Welcome to Kit McConnico Park The kiosk at the trailhead doesn't have the most accurate map depicted (photo courtesy of DET-TRAC) The roots are minimal, but the flow is nearly constant Did we mention that the trail flows really well?
This particular "natural" obstacle offers a bypass for the less daring Benches along the way provide the opportunity for a break We mentioned flowing, but did we point out how it winds through the trees? Many of the low areas feature the slightly banked turns in and out Many sections feature fast turns that are fun to speed in to
Well designed trail signs keep you on track as to just where you are A fast stretch of singletrack along Jeep Loop

You don't expect to find much purpose built mountain bike trail in east Texas and you'll be surprised at what you find in Lufkin. This trail is 5.5 miles [ed.] of rolling, twisty singletrack. With only 100 feet of elevation in the park, you'll soon notice that it seems like one direction on the loop is all up hill, while turning around makes it seem like all downhill.
The largest obstacles are two big log-overs utilizing downed trees from Hurricane Ike. Other than that you'll find very flowy, if sometimes rooty, trail that brings a smile to your face.
All of the trail was professionally designed and the bulk of the construction done by S&S Trails. DET-TRAC and the Angelina Bike Club got the grant for the trail and provided countless hours of volunteer time to do finish work.
