Is there such a trail in the Austin area by the name of "THUMP"?

So, this trail has been 'under wraps for a while, primarily due to the encroachment of the neighborhood around it and the fears that hordes of lycra and baggy wearing bikers descending on it would effectively curtail it's use. However, it looks like progress is being made since directions are now being posted on an Austin texas bike board: <http://www.bikemojo.com/speak/showthread.php?t=70998>

I guess the only thing I would say would be ride the trail, but be extremely aware of your surroundings, i.e., make sure not to blast your radios early in the AM, park in front of anyone's homes or otherwise be a possible nuisance to the people who live around the trail head. If we can all maintain that level of common courtesy, perhaps this trail will be 'opened to the public as a recognized trail' before too long.

See you on the singletrack!

Thumper rocks, and it would be terrible to have access pulled. Park over at Buck's Bikes, or better yet BB Rovers bar, and ride in to the trail head. The street ride is about 2 miles and it gives your legs time to warm up. You don't want to hit Thumper with cold legs! :?

No worries, busy month it seems.

I am out this Thursday. That work thing gets in the way sometimes. How about next Thursday and I'll join you on the SS.

;-)

Have a great week.

peace.
